Frequently asked questions

Do I need coffee knowledge to use it?
No. There are no intimidating numbers or jargon. Just pick your taste—the app builds the recipe and the timer guides your brew.
What gear do I need?
A paper dripper (such as a V60), paper filters, a kettle and a scale let you brew exactly to the recipe. You can still explore the app without any gear.
What's included for free?
The core experience—taste input, recipe generation, guided timer and logging—is free forever. Finer suggestions and iced recipes are unlocked with the optional Cupmate Plus.
Can I carry my records across devices?
Records are saved on your device, and signing in with Apple or Google syncs them across devices via the cloud. Sign-in is optional—every feature works without it.
What is the 4:6 method?
A globally recognized pour-over technique that splits the water into the first 40% (flavor) and the last 60% (strength) to control taste and body. Cupmate designs its recipes and timer around this approach.
