Cupmate (an individual developer; "we" or "us") sets out this Privacy Policy (the "Policy") regarding the handling of user information in the application "Cupmate" (the "App").
1. Information we collect
The App mainly handles the following information:
- Brew records (dose, water amount, temperature, time, star rating, taste tags, notes, and other content you enter or generate)
- App settings (notifications, BGM, haptics, etc.)
- Account information from signing in (the user identifier when you sign in with Apple / Google, and the email address received from the provider)
- Purchase and subscription information (subscription status when you buy Cupmate Plus, transaction details such as purchase date and expiry, and a user identifier for billing management). Payment details such as credit-card numbers are processed by the App Store / Google Play and are not received by the App.
- Usage and diagnostics information (statistics of screens and events, crash and performance diagnostics)
2. Purposes of use
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- Providing the App's features (recipe suggestions, records, review, improvement suggestions)
- Syncing records across multiple devices and carrying data over when you change devices
- Maintaining and improving the user experience, investigating issues, and improving quality
- Providing Cupmate Plus (paid features), managing billing and subscriptions, restoring purchases, and offering suggestions based on your history
3. Where data is stored (device and cloud)
Your records and settings are first stored on your device (a local database). Brew records are also stored in the cloud (Google Cloud Firestore) and synced across devices on the same account. Cloud data is stored only in an area tied to your own account (user identifier), with access controls so that no one else can access it.
4. Accounts and sign-in
The App first creates an anonymous account automatically and uses it to store and sync records. When you sign in with Apple or Google, this anonymous account is carried over (linked) to a proper account, keeping your records. We may receive an email address from the provider at sign-in, but use it only for identity verification and account linking.
5. Analytics and diagnostics (no tracking)
To improve the App, we use Firebase Analytics (usage statistics) and Firebase Crashlytics (crash and diagnostic information), handled mainly for statistical and aggregate purposes.
The App does not perform behavioral tracking using advertising identifiers (such as IDFA) or cross-app tracking across other apps or websites. We also do not provide information to data brokers.
6. Third-party services
To provide features, the App uses the following third-party services. The handling of information in each service follows that provider's own privacy policy.
- Firebase (authentication, data sync, analytics, crash reporting) / Google LLC
- RevenueCat (in-app purchase and subscription management) / RevenueCat, Inc.
- App Store (Apple Inc.) / Google Play (Google LLC) (in-app purchase payments)
To manage Cupmate Plus purchases and subscription status, the App shares with the billing-management service RevenueCat a user identifier corresponding to your account along with purchase and transaction information. The payment process itself is handled by the App Store / Google Play; neither we nor RevenueCat hold payment details such as credit-card numbers.
7. Provision to third parties
Except as required by law, we do not provide personal information to third parties without the user's consent. Use of the third-party services in the previous article is entrustment for providing the App's features and is not included in such provision to third parties.
8. Retention and deletion
Data on your device is erased by deleting the App's data or uninstalling the App. If you wish to delete brew records stored in the cloud, or to delete your account, please contact the inquiry desk at the end of this Policy. We will respond within a reasonable period after confirmation.
9. Use by children
The App is not intended to collect personal information from any specific age group. Guardians should supervise children's use as needed.
10. Security management
We take reasonable and appropriate measures, including access controls, to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of the information we handle and to otherwise manage it safely.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may change this Policy as needed. The revised content takes effect once displayed within the App.
